Excitement is building in Orange Farm as residents eagerly await the completion of the long-anticipated Chris Hani Sports Complex.
The Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Development Planning, Cllr Eunice Mgcina, together with Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) CEO, Themba Mathibe, recently toured the site and the progress is nothing short of inspiring.
Phase 1 of this world-class facility is nearing completion and promises to be a game-changer for the community. Once opened, the complex will boast modern multi-purpose courts, a professional-grade soccer field, an outdoor gym to promote fitness and wellness and well-designed public spaces for community events and gatherings.
The project underscores the City of Johannesburg’s commitment to building healthier, stronger and more inclusive communities. By investing in state-of-the-art facilities, the City is not only creating safe spaces for young people but also positioning Orange Farm as a future hub for sport, wellness and opportunity.
