Vusudakie Youth Development NPC, founded by Simphiwe Selepe and Jabulani Motaung, is making waves in Orange Farm by using sports to empower young people and nurture the next generation of top class athletes.
“We aim to give youth access to organized sports and life skills training to develop discipline, leadership and teamwork,” said Selepe.
Their work with various local schools has created opportunities to expose young talent, with athletes representing Orange Farm in competitions and winning medals. “Seeing our athletes win brings us joy and motivates us to keep going,” shared Motaung.
Despite limited sports opportunities in local schools, Vusudakie is ensuring that young people in the area stay physically active while building strong social connections. The founders are grateful to the schools that have welcomed them with open arms, providing vital support for these programmes.
Key programmes:
Athletic Training –skills-building in soccer, netball and athletics.
Leadership & life skills – focus on teamwork, communication and time management.
IT Training – software development, data science and analytics courses.
Through these initiatives, Vusudakie is keeping sports alive in Orange Farm, empowering youth to excel both in sports and life.
