PLPDL Community Football League is back with a bang!

Community Football League has returned in style, welcoming new teams for the highly anticipated 2024/2025 season. The opening matches took place over the weekend of 15 and 16 February at the Hazulu Ground in Ext 9, Phase 1, where fresh talent and fierce competition were on full display.

This season sees the introduction of several new teams eager to make their mark. Vision the Realm FC from Ext 8, Stretford, Positive Living People FC and Drieziek Lions FC from Drieziek 5, Young Tigers FC also from Drieziek 5, and Young Giants FC from Finetown have all joined the league. Stretford Young Tigers FC has entered two teams, Team A and Team B, both based in Ext 9, Phase 1. Dikweneng FC from Flakfontein has also stepped into the competition.

Weekend Match Results

In the U-11 division, Young Tigers FC played to a 1-1 draw against Drieziek Lions FC. Vision the Realm FC put on a strong performance, defeating Young Giants FC 3-1, while Stretford Young Tigers FC Team B secured a 2-1 victory over Positive Living People FC.

The U-13 matches saw a tight contest between Stretford Young Tigers FC Team A and Young Tigers FC, ending in a 1-1 draw. Positive Living People FC and Young Giants FC also played to a goalless draw, while Vision the Realm FC dominated their match against Stretford Young Tigers FC Team B, winning 3-0.

In the U-15 category, Positive Living People FC edged past Drieziek Lions FC with a 1-0 win. Vision the Realm FC and Stretford Young Tigers FC Team A battled to a 1-1 draw, while Young Tigers FC claimed a 2-1 victory over Stretford Young Tigers FC Team B.

The U-17 division delivered intense action as Stretford Young Tigers FC Team A and Young Tigers FC settled for a 0-0 draw. Vision the Realm FC delivered a commanding performance, thrashing Positive Living People FC 4-0. The final match of the weekend saw Stretford Young Tigers FC Team B and Drieziek Lions FC playing to a 1-1 draw.

With a mix of competitive draws, dominant victories and promising performances, the league is set for an electrifying season. Fans can expect more thrilling football action as teams fight for glory in the coming weeks.
