At just 16 years old, Noluthando Zakwe from Ext 6A and a proud learner of Leshata Secondary School has proven that hard work and determination can overcome any challenge.
With an impressive APS score of 38+, Noluthando not only passed her matric with flying colours but also achieved an outstanding 100% in Business Studies- a feat she describes as a dream come true.
Noluthando told Orange Farm News: “I’m overexcited! At first, I couldn’t believe it. But then I remembered that I never scored below 90% in Business Studies throughout the year. This achievement means so much to me.”
Her journey wasn’t without its hurdles. Noluthando faced challenges such as load shedding, which sometimes delayed her studies. “There were times I had to wait for the electricity to return because certain aspects of Business Studies required me to use my phone,” she explains.
Despite these obstacles, Noluthando remained focused and resilient. Her Business Studies teacher, Mr Mokotoane, played a significant role in her success. “I’m so grateful to Mr Mokotoane. His guidance and support kept me motivated and helped me excel in this subject,” Noluthando shared.
Noluthando’s exceptional performance earned her an invitation to the official matric results announcement ceremony, where her hard work was celebrated. With a bachelor’s pass in hand and her determination shining brightly, Noluthando is an inspiration to her peers and a testament to the power of perseverance.
She plans to pursue a teaching degree, with a major in Business Studies, or alternatively, a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom).
