Every Friday at the Skills Centre, aspiring actors gather for acting classes led by Tshepo Summit, founder and director of Young Stars Film. In collaboration with Computer Club House, Black Dot Empire and Itumeleng Khumalo, director of Second Chance Production, these classes aim to uncover local talent, offering actors and actresses the opportunity to hone their craft and showcase their skills on larger stages.

Tshepo Summit has been collaborating with Aaliyah Lindiwe Tukwane on acting workshops since 2022. Their final workshop together was held earlier this March at Dinangwe Ext 3, under the direction of Alfacoxswain.

Since June, Tshepo has been running his own acting classes at the Skills Centre, providing a nurturing platform for budding actors, from 8 to 28 years old, to refine their craft.

Mpho Maloka, director of Black Dot Empire and producer, camera operator and editor of shows such as “Ubhuti Wami Lona,” “Spy Makhelwane,” “Suxoka,” and “I Blew It” from DStv Channel 161, 163 and 164, shared valuable insights about the filming and acting industry during the classes.

Tshepo Summit and the team are currently shooting their first short film, “Unheritance,” set to be released on YouTube in August.

“Young Stars Film exposes young, upcoming talent and sheds light on the practicalities of an acting career. We are available on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube,” said Tshepo Summit.
