On 4 May, the Ext 2 Community Hall buzzed with anticipation as Deep South Jozi held its yearly Miss Face of Deep South Jozi pageant. Community members eagerly gathered to witness not only the familiar spectacle but also the introduction of new categories, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.

The Miss Face of Deep South Jozi pageant continues to evolve, now encompassing new categories such as Teen Miss Face of Deep South Jozi (13-19 years), Little Miss Face of Deep South Jozi (7-12 years) and Mini Miss Face of Deep South Jozi 2024-25 (3-6 years).

This expansion reflects the growing support and progress within the Deep South Jozi community, facilitated by Deep South Jozi DSJ (PTY) LTD, a registered company that has been hosting these pageants since Lethukuthula Magida, the reigning Teen Miss Deep South Jozi Queen, shared her perspective on modeling: “Modeling is an act of self-giving that builds character. It’s a win-win situation where one grows personally while contributing to the industry.”

Magida’s journey began at a young age, winning titles like Miss Moyisela Primary and honing her skills through various Johannesburg pageants. She emphasizes that modeling is about more than physical beauty-it requires courage and intelligence.

Thando Ngwenya, crowned Mini Miss Deep South Jozi Queen at just 6 years old, has her mother, Pinkie Ngwenya, to thank for her support and guidance. Pinkie describes her daughter as talented, ambitious and possessing a natural flair for modeling.

Through her modeling journey, Thando has gained confidence, professionalism and valuable life skills. Pinkie advises aspiring girls to persevere and follow their hearts.

Maqhawe Madela, founder of Deep South Jozi, traces his roots back to his own modeling and bodybuilding career. Over the years, he has organized various pageants and groomed models who have made significant strides in the industry. His vision for Deep South Jozi extends beyond individual success; he aims to uplift the community and put Orange Farm on the map.

As Miss Face of Deep South Jozi continues to grow and empower young talent, it remains a beacon of opportunity and community engagement in the Deep South Jozi region.

Madela invites those interested in joining the movement to reach out via their social media platforms or call 065 958 5606.
