Orange Farm comedian Thabo “Summary Wa Lehetla” Kgaphola shared the stage with some of South Africa’s comedy heavyweights when he performed at Emperors Palace on August 8.
The award-winning comedian was part of the “Celeste & Da Big Dudes” Comedy Special, hosted by Celeste Ntuli at the venue’s Centre Court.
In front of an appreciative crowd, Summary delivered the energetic township humour that has become his trademark, taking a piece of Orange Farm with him onto one of Gauteng’s well-known entertainment stages.
The appearance was another milestone for a comedian whose journey has taken him beyond his home community and into the national comedy scene.
Summary already has accolades behind his name, including a DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Award in 2017 and the South African Best Indigenous Comedian Award in 2019.
His performance at Emperors Palace placed him among an established line-up and offered another reminder that talent from Orange Farm continues to find its way onto bigger stages.
The laughs did not end when he stepped off stage either. Summary was later pictured backstage joking with Emperors Palace entertainment manager Irvin Nkosi.
For the local entertainer, the night added another major performance to a career built on turning everyday township life into laughter.
