A 16-year-old Aha Thuto secondary learner has been arrested for murder after stabbing his 17-year-old schoolmate to death earlier today.
At around 12.30pm, Orange Farms SAPS received a complaint of stabbing at the school and immediately attended to the scene.
It is alleged that the boys fought for a teaser shocker in the streets of Orange Farm Ext 7b, a friend intervened and stopped them.
“The two boys met at school during breaktime and the fight ensued again. The 16-year-old suspect drew a knife and stabbed the 17-year-old on the thigh. The victim was rushed to Stretford clinic for medical attention. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries at the clinic,” Orange Farms SAPS spokesperson, Sgt Shaan Motsapi told Orange Farm News.
The suspect was immediately arrested and detained for murder. The murder weapon was also seized.
“A case docket of murder has been registered for further investigation and the suspect will soon appear at the Vereeniging Magistrate’s court facing a charge of murder,” Motsapi added.
