Three Orange Farm artists are preparing to release a powerful new hip-hop single that places family, gratitude and real-life experiences at the heart of its message.
Austin, Kaycee and Mehluko recently announced their upcoming collaboration, “By My Side”, a track dedicated to appreciating parents and recognising the sacrifices they make behind the scenes. The single is set to be released later this month on major streaming platforms.
Blending soulful production with emotional storytelling, the song reflects on childhood struggles, life lessons learned at home and the unwavering support parents often provide through difficult times.
Mehluko opens the track with a melodic hook that delivers a heartfelt message of gratitude, while Austin and Kaycee follow with personal verses inspired by their own experiences growing up.
“We wanted to create something that people can connect with on a deeper level, especially when it comes to appreciating our parents while they are still with us,” said Austin.
Unlike many fast-paced commercial releases, “By My Side” takes a more reflective approach. The production features soulful samples, steady drum patterns and a laid-back hip-hop rhythm that allows the lyrics and emotions to take centre stage.
The collaboration also shines a spotlight on the growing talent emerging from Orange Farm. The artists hope the song will resonate with listeners who value meaningful music, authentic storytelling and messages that reflect everyday life.
