Banks banks on his hard-hitting bars to take over the game

At just 24 years old, Nqobile Khumalo, known as Banks, is making waves in the hip-hop scene. Hailing from Ext 1, his musical journey began in 2010 after seeing Justin Bieber on TV.

Inspired by the idea that young artists could become superstars, he started writing his first lyrics. Over time, his style was heavily influenced by 50 Cent, leading him to fully commit to music in 2014.

Banks has already made his mark with one album and one EP, both available on all digital platforms: ‘Favours’ (Album) – released on 30 September 2023, ‘Cursed’ (EP) – released in 2022.

His talent has landed him on SABC 1’s Daily Thetha, where he performed and was interviewed. He has also graced the stage at Hillbrow Radio and was booked for the first-ever Orange Farm Music Festival, hosted by Chef in the Kitchen.

Now, Banks is gearing up for his next big project, “Zulu Magic’, set to drop on 1 May. The project features Sastii Rsa, a member of The Qwellers, promising a fresh and exciting sound for his fans.

As an independent artist, Banks is dedicated to pushing his craft and making an impact in the industry. Keep up with his journey by following him on Instagram: @bankssa888.
