Madiba United crowned champions of Ananda Marga U13 tournament

Madiba United emerged as the champions of the 2024 Ananda Marga U13 tournament, held from 19 October to 2 November at Exchange Ground Ext 7b.

This impressive competition, featuring 32 youth teams, aimed to steer young boys in the community away from drugs and illegal activities, offering them an exciting opportunity to engage in positive and structured activities.

FTASD took second place while Action Junior Sports Club claimed third place.

Top performers: Best Goalkeeper- Kamohelo Lee, Top Goal Scorer- Neo Jonathan, Best Defender- Happy Tshabalala, Player of the Tournament-Thuto.

Organised by Ananda Marga, a global movement committed to self-realisation and community welfare, the tournament brought more than just sport to the local youth. In addition to hosting league matches, Ananda Marga offers a range of enriching programmes, including yoga, meditation, detox camps, cultural events, and food distribution.

These activities aim to foster the physical, mental and spiritual growth of participants. The tournament was a combined effort led by coordinators Thandi Nkosi, Stanley Dlamini and Lebo Mofokeng, who recognised the need to engage youth in meaningful activities. Their dedication ensured a successful event, providing a safe space for young boys to channel their energy and ambition, far from the streets and harmful influences.
