Shef and the Kitchen dish out ‘The Next Recipe’ this month

Orange Farm band Shef and the Kitchen is set to release their highly anticipated second studio album ‘The Next Recipe’ on 25 October.

Featuring 11 deeply personal tracks, this album is dedicated to mothers around the world and draws inspiration from the band’s experiences and global influences.

Each song pays homage to the love, strength and resilience of mothers while also reflecting the challenges facing young people in the Orange Farm township, offering a message of hope and unity.

The ‘Next Recipe’ draws from Shef and the Kitchen’s 2020 World Tour in India, which left a profound impact on the band’s creative direction. The album captures diverse sounds and cultures, blending them into a unique musical journey that speaks to global and local struggles alike.

Produced by Lucky “Master Lugz” Shebangu, this project brings together an array of talent with features from Reign Afrika and Nokcula, adding rich layers to the band’s distinctive sound.

The album will make its live debut in Cape Town on 2 November at Gallery South in Muizenberg, where fans can experience the new songs in an intimate setting.

Shef and the Kitchen, comprising Siphiwe “Shef” Hlophe, Sinethemba “Sne Keys” Mhlanganiso, Phazimane “Mane” Simela and Sifiso Mabizela, continue to make waves in the South African music scene with their soulful compositions and powerful messages.
