Yithi amabhoza: Young Magic defeats Soweto giants Motsoeledi United
In a thrilling David versus Goliath showdown, Orange Farm’s Young Magic took on the formidable Motsoeledi United, led by coach Yaya, at the Soweto Bumjee Tour Fields over the weekend.
The Young Magic U13 team clinched victory with a narrow 1-0 win, thanks to a standout goal from Andile Tshabalala.
The excitement didn’t stop there, as the U15 squad also delivered a remarkable performance, defeating Motsoeledi United 3-2. Goals from Ofentse Lichaba, Master and Nkosinathi Ntlapho who showcased the team’s undeniable talent and determination.
This impressive feat underscores that Orange Farm is not merely a ‘jungle’ but a thriving hub of talent, demonstrating that victories are earned on the pitch, not merely on paper.
Founded by Sam Mokoena, Young Magic boasts U11, U13 and U15 teams and has participated in major tournaments, including the Efford Bhebhe Tournament and the MTN Juniors Tournament.
Reflecting on their achievements, the coach expressed his pride: “I’m proud of my boys; they played exceptionally well. Beating Soweto giants like Motsoeledi United is a monumental achievement for us. We prepared thoroughly, knowing the calibre of the opponents we faced. Our goal was clear: we were there to win.”
