Uncle’s 11 Soccer Tournament ends in spectacular showdown in Drieziek 5

The highly anticipated Uncle’s 11 Soccer Tournament came to a thrilling close on Sunday, 29 September, at the Drieziek 5 Sports Grounds.

The competition saw three clubs – Dangerous Dakies, Drieziek Lions and Amabutho FC – emerge victorious in their respective age groups.

In the U13 final, Dangerous Dakies FC defeated Dube Warriors FC 2-1. The triumphant Dakies walked away with a new kit, trophy and gold medals, while the runners-up received silver medals and new kits.

The U15 division offered nail-biting drama as Drieziek Lions FC faced Batsogile FC. After a 2-2 draw, the Lions roared to victory with a tense 6-5 win in penalties, taking home the kit, trophy and gold medals. Batsogile settled for silver medals and new kits.

Amabutho FC dominated the U17 division, securing a 2-0 win over Drieziek Lions FC. The victors claimed the kit, trophy and gold medals, while the Lions, despite their strong showing, walked away with silver medals and new kits.

In the adults’ division, Vlakfontein Zamalek FC claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Orange Farm Tycoons. Zamalek celebrated with a R9 000 cash prize, new kit, trophy and gold medals, while the runners-up took home silver medals and new kits.

Tournament organiser Thokama “Uncle” Ramara thanked the teams, supporters and contributors for making the event a success.

“The tournament went well, thanks to the community and everyone who participated,” said Ramara.
