Vaal’s Son of The Soil marks a decade of unforgettable performances
Thullo Mgcina, known as Son of The Soil from Vaal, has been making waves in the entertainment industry for a decade.
Starting his artistic journey 10 years ago, Thullo has carved out a name for himself as both an actor and a poet. In 2020, he launched his comedy series titled “Ke Nyesa Topo” which quickly gained popularity on YouTube. His breakthrough role came as the lead in “Tshaba” a film rooted in the rich history of kasi gangsterism. Thullo continued to shine as the main character in “Idlozi Lami” which garnered over 100,000 views on YouTube under P.Shane Production.
This success led to the film being nominated at the Gauteng Film Festival. Adding to his versatile talents, Thullo choreographed a dance sequence for the film “Khang” (also known as “The Conflict”) under Blah Blah Production.
Thullo’s talents were further recognised when he secured a role as the leader of gangsters in the film “Gods of Joburg” under Block 12 Productions. He also landed a supportive character role in “Mabidi Was Strata” under Blaq Indi Production. Looking ahead, Thullo is set to take on a role in the upcoming local series “Chingos,” scheduled for release in 2025.
