JRA repairs Drieziek 3 road, ensuring safer commutes for all
On 19 July, the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) completed repairs on a problematic road in Drieziek 3, which had been a source of frustration for motorists for months.
This initiative was part of JRA’s 67 minutes for Mandela, reflecting their dedication to service delivery. Due to the road’s poor condition, taxis had stopped using the route, forcing passengers to travel long distances to find alternative transport.
The road, located near Govern Mbheki Primary, posed a danger to learners, as motorists navigating the damaged surface risked hitting children leaving the school. The community expressed relief and gratitude for the repair work, as the road is now safe and functional.
Ward 5 Councillor Mxolisi Ndzondo, said: “It was crucial for this road to be fixed and I’m pleased to see it repaired and usable again. I thank JRA for dedicating their 67 minutes to giving back to the community and I encourage them to continue their good work. Our community is a top priority.”
