Two suspects arrested for possession of hijacked vehicle in Orange Farm
During routine crime prevention patrols in the Orange Farm area, police received a tip-off about suspects tampering with a Hyundai H100 bakkie. Officers arrived at the scene to find two individuals stripping the interior of the white vehicle.
The suspects were unable to provide a valid reason for their actions and were immediately arrested. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle’s owner had been hijacked earlier on Golden Highway near Vanderbijlpark and left in De Deur.
“The suspects are now detained at Orange Farm and face charges of possession of a hijacked motor vehicle and kidnapping. They are set to appear in Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court soon. Station Commander Brigadier MJ Manamela praised the officers for their swift response and dedication to community service, stating they deserve recognition for their excellent work,” said Orange Farm SAPS communication officer, Sgt Shaan Motsapi.
