Suspected boyfriend sets partner’s residence ablaze, parents hospitalized in ICU from burns
Abel Moya (65) and his wife Sinnah Moya (55) are currently battling life-threatening injuries in the hospital, having sustained severe burns during a house fire on Sunday night, 28 January, in Ext 6a.
Orange Farm SAPS communication officer Sgt Motsapi, said: “The family of four was preparing to sleep when a sudden fire broke out in their extension 6a home. Despite attempting to escape by breaking open doors, three family members suffered fire burns and were subsequently hospitalized. The daughter, who had an earlier altercation with her boyfriend, was not present during the incident. An arson case has been registered for further investigation. Siyabonga Nkosi, also known as Gunman, is required to present himself at the Orange Farm police station for questioning in connection with this incident. ”
Ntombizodwa Moya, sharing her sentiments with Orange Farm News, conveyed profound anguish regarding the tragic event. Her mother is presently in ICU, battling for survival, while her father is in critical condition. She disclosed that her boyfriend, embroiled in a prior disagreement, departed and purportedly ignited her family’s residence. “He is displaying no remorse and persisting in making threats. His currently evading authorities, and a formal case has been lodged,” said Ntombizodwa.
