Mphethi Mahlatsi receives 200 chairs through joint efforts of MJ Enterprise and OFUTA

MJ Enterprise, in collaboration with OFUTA, generously donated 200 chairs to Mphethi Mahlatsi Secondary on Friday, 26 January.

The local taxi association OFUTA, partnering with MJ Enterprise, not only contributed school shoes but also brought much-needed chairs, bringing immense joy to the learners.

Connie Maeyane, the SGB chairperson at Mphethi, expressed gratitude to OFUTA and MJ Enterprise for these significant donations. She highlighted the chair shortage, explaining that insufficient chairs often resulted in learners fighting for chairs, disrupting the learning environment. Maeyane noted that students would arrive early or sacrifice break time to secure a chair, emphasizing the critical need for additional chairs.

Zama Ngubane from MJ Enterprise said: “Giving back to our community is crucial. Having been an educator in Orange Farm, I’ve seen the struggles students face, especially with chair shortages leading to conflicts. That’s why we brought 200 chairs. No student should be without a chair or school shoes, and we aspire to bring positive change to our community.”

Monti Motsopa from OFUTA added: “Caring for our communities, especially supporting learners, is a priority for us. We want to see them thrive for a better future, and to achieve that, they need our support. We hope to do more, reaching more schools. A heartfelt thank you to Zama Ngubane and Quality Biyela for motivating the learners.”
