Gospel sensation Zaza marks 20 Years of musical excellence

Celebrating 20 remarkable years in the industry, gospel star Zaza, also known as Zanela “Zaza” Mokheti, reflects on a challenging yet fulfilling journey.

At 45, she embraces the calling to heal through her music, expressing gratitude for touching countless lives with her voice. Devoted to God’s work, Zaza promises more uplifting music. Born and raised in Kwa-Thema, Joburg, she acknowledges the industry’s lessons of persistence and resilience, learned over two decades.

Zaza’s musical odyssey began in high school, leading to international performances with Joyous Celebration. Her breakthrough came with the song “Namhla Nkosi”.

Recording three albums under her previous label, Zaza founded Zahza Holdings in 2015, producing four live DVD albums. Despite the hardships of the gospel path, she learned to be wiser, stronger, and trust in God.

Her latest project, “Shabach Shofar Chronicle (Make A Great Shout of Praise),” released last year December, marks her 7th album, available on all streaming platforms.

Zaza’s advice to aspiring youth: identify and nurture your talents, sharpen your skills professionally and, above all, trust in the Lord (Proverbs 3:5).
