Ufelani? Busisiwe beaten into coma by boyfriend

The Ntuli family and the Ext 6 community are seeking justice for Busisiwe Ntuli, who was severely assaulted in November allegedly by her boyfriend, a JMPD officer.

On 29 December, he appeared at the Vereeniging Magistrate Court for a bail application, which was postponed to 4 January.

The community, supporting the family and advocating for justice, flooded the court with placards expressing their demand for no bail and justice for Busi, condemning GBV.

The alleged assault occurred on 12 November, leading to Busi’s hospitalization on 14. She was kept unconscious in the house until the suspect’s colleagues found her when they arrived to pick him up for work. She has been in a coma since, and the suspect was only arrested on 21 December.

A community member stated, “As a community, we say no to Gender- Based Violence and demand justice. We will support the family and Busisiwe.”

Dumisani Ntuli, the victim’s brother, expressed sadness, revealing that Busi is fighting for her life with multiple injuries, including to her head.

Orange Farm’s SAPS communication officer Sgt Motsapi confirmed the suspect’s arrest for assault GBH (Grievous Bodily Harm).
