On 5 December, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi spearheaded another #TransformerSwitchOn initiative, this time in Orange Farm’s Ext 3 and 8, aligning with the Province’s Energy Response Plan.
During his recent visit to the area, he fulfilled his commitment to provide transformers, marking the second round of deliveries following the earlier distribution in Ext 3 a few weeks ago.
Residents in Ext 3 expressed their joy and gratitude, finally emerging from years of living in darkness. The Transformer Replacements program, a Gauteng government intervention, aims to reconnect communities without electricity to the grid.
Lesufi, during his visit, personally engaged with and extended greetings to an ecstatic family in Orange Farm that had endured an extended period without electricity before the recent switch-on.
