Premier Lesufi promises to replace 137 transformers in Orange Farm
Yesterday, the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) conducted a visit to Orange Farm as part of the Gauteng Energy Response Plan.
Premier Panyaza Lesufi assured residents that 137 transformers in the area would be replaced by the end of December.
Premier Lesufi, actively engaging with communities affected by power shortages due to transformer issues such as vandalism and theft, will host a public meeting in the region to discuss the provincial government’s interventions in addressing the widespread energy crisis.
The government’s approach involves tackling the crisis by addressing illegal connections, managing debts, registering indigent residents, and implementing the Transformer Replacement Programme, aimed at reconnecting communities without electricity for an extended period back to the grid.
