Bail denied for Dr. Nandipha Magudumana

Dr. Nandipha Magudumana, facing charges for aiding the convicted murderer and rapist Thabo Bester in his escape from the Mangaung Correctional Centre, has had her bail request rejected by the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court.

Alongside her boyfriend Thabo Bester, they were apprehended in Tanzania while evading South African authorities.

Magistrate Estelle de Lange, in her ruling, emphasized that Magudumana poses a flight risk, rendering any bail conditions insufficient to mitigate this risk.

Consequently, Magudumana will remain incarcerated at the Zizzah Makhate prison in Kroonstad, pending further investigation into the case.
