The City of Johannesburg is gearing up for an exciting start to the swimming season with the unveiling of its public swimming pools

With a total of 57 pools, get ready for a season filled with aquatic fun! Starting from 1 September, 18 pools will welcome visitors and an additional 29 pools will open their gates as the season extends until March 2024. Pools such as Orange Farm’s Ext 4 and Drieziek 3, which have been affected by vandalism, are currently under construction or undergoing renovations, will open at a later date.

Seize this opportunity to dive into the water, as encouraged by Cllr Lubabalo Magwentshu, Member of the Mayoral Committee for Community Development.

From Tuesday to Friday, you can enjoy swimming from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and on weekends, the aquatic adventure continues from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM – a perfect way to beat the heat and relish some outdoor recreation.
