Orange Farm’s Empress Lily wins Reggae Artist of The Year at Basadi In Music Awards
Ext 3’s Khanyisa “Empress Lily” Dibane was named Reggae Artist Of The Year at Basadi In Music Awards at a glamorous event held at the Joburg Theatre on Saturday, 12 August.
Empress was nominated alongside some of the greatest Reggae artists in the continent that included Delta The Leo, Dimahr, Zama Sunshine and Reigh. She also rubbed shoulders with biggest names in the entertainment industry that include the likes of Ihhashi Elimhlophe and family, Lwah Ndlunkulu from Nkabi Records and many more.
She was accompanied by her mother and manager, Gangalee, who she’s signed under. Empress said she was happy to win the award and thanked everyone who supported and voted for her.
Empress told Orange Farm News: “This means a world to me, it shows that my work is being recognised and I’m inspiring young people to work more harder. I’m thankful to the Orange Farm community for the support they have been giving me. I really appreciate it. This award is for everyone in Orange Farm, know that nothing is impossible”.
The awards will be broadcast on SABC 2 at 20:30 on 27 August.
