Local youths take on 48-hour film challenge
Orange Farm’s Black Mode Production are representing the area at the 48 Hour Film Project running from 11 to 13 August.
The budding filmmakers will be challenged to make a movie from script to screen in the mere 48hour (two days) and showcase the movie to premier at the SK Cinema in Mall of Africa. The team stands a chance to book a spot for the winning film to be screened at an international film festival – Cannes Short Film Corner – in Lisbon, Portugal next year.
“All the creative work will happen this weekend, writing the script, shooting the film and editing must occur within the 48 hour window period. Our team will be told what genre the film should be based on, given the character name, use of line, and prop that must be featured in the film,” the producer and director, Morena Mofokeng told OFN.
Mofokeng added: “We also seek sponsors to help us continue doing our work and uplifting the youth.”
