Shock as newborn baby boy’s body found decomposing in Drieziek 4

Drieziek 4 residents have been left shocked following Easter Sunday’s discovery of an infant boy’s body inside a plastic bag dumped in an open veld.

The discovery was made by two female CPF patrollers who were doing their rounds in the nearby bushes, they saw a suspicious plastic bag that was wrapped with a tape. One of them thought it was a dangerous weapon or something else. When they opened the bag, they found a baby’s body that was on the verge of decomposing.

Ward 4’s Councillor Simon Molefe and CPF chairperson Andries Macheli called the police. An ambulance arrived and paramedics declared the baby as deceased, it was observed that the child still had an umbilical cord attached to him.
