SELTE’s founder, Phumelele Tshatani, and his 14 co-workers visited three primary schools and five secondary schools to identify children who are in need of special education.

They also conduct educational workshops around Orange Farm where officials from the Department of Education and educators are invited to teach and answer questions that parents might have about learners with special educational needs (LSEN).

Tshatani told Orange Farm News: “Learners from special schools are logical in technical equality, they have skills to create things using their hands. LSEN classes and special schools are not for mentally disturbed learners.”
